US Presidential Debate 2004: Iraq and the War on Terror
I watched the 2004 US Presidential Debate on TV this evening. George W. Bush vs. John F. Kerry.
Both have been good. Both have been quite convincing. But I feel John Kerry is more diplomatic and he will make the world and America a safer place. Hate begets hate. War and violence begets war and violence. I've always felt there is a diplomatic way to resolve issues. And if issues can be settled diplomatically, then war could be avoided. Thus, we can end the sick cycle of war, hate, and revenge.
I believe war should be a last resort, something which Bush doesn't. I believe Bush rushed into war in Iraq. I believe there could have been a diplomatic way to deal with Saddam and the weapons of mass destruction. I believe there can be a diplomatic way to deal with Iran and North Korea. And I believe John Kerry is the man who will do the job.
If I could vote, I would vote for Kerry. I believe in John Kerry's cause and ideas. Though I'm sure Bush has good ideas himself, I just fear that another 4 years of him will just plunge America down even further. Right now, there is no more respect for America because of the Iraq War. The Iraq War is dragging longer and longer. More deaths are happening, in both Iraq, either by war or terrorist kidnappings (beheadings). The US economy is plunging down, even more so as Bush continues to put money in military needs. With Bush, I feel it will be another difficult 4 years. It will be a dangerous and uncertain 4 more years because I feel Bush has sights on North Korea and Iran. I feel he will go after those against-America and "terrorist" countries (the so-called "Axis of Evil") one by one. And I believe such acts may trigger the feared World War III where nuclear weapons may be used.
Let's bring the peacemaker into the White House! Let's go John Kerry!
