A Christmas poem

Haven’t seen nor heard from you for quite some time
I guess you’ve been busy, too busy to go online
Law school must have been tough
Hopefully, the road for you hasn’t been rough

Nothing much has changed for me
I struggle to move on and life has been lonely
Christmas is here; the days have gone fast
Sometimes, I still reminisce about the good old days past

Christmas season is here; the days have been cold
I find myself longing for someone to hug and someone to hold
But alas, I find that no one is there
Like the trees in winter, my life has been bare

I wish I am 6,978 miles across the Pacific Ocean now
If that is the case, maybe my life would be different somehow
I miss all my friends, now that is true
And most of all, yes, I do miss you

I know we’re an ocean apart
But that is no excuse for a longing heart
A heart that is longing to give, longing to share
Hopefully, by this simple gift, you’ll know that I still love and care

Now, I don’t want to seem so mushy and so sad
So I’ll end this poem like an optimistic young lad
I hope my plans in the future will all jive
And if they do, I guess I’ll see you in 2005 :)
