Day 3: Burned out but hanging on

Day 3 of coming home late has really burned me out. Doing phones all day has burned me out. Doing my job right now has terribly burned me out. It was a never-ending "Hello, I'm Mr. S from X company here in the San Francisco Bay Area, blah, blah, blah..." All the same lines over and over again, talking to business owners, CEOs, HR people, etc. It was sickening, to say the least. All this sales stuff is taking the life out of me.

But then again, I have no choice. If it was between this and Macy's, I'd definitely choose the former, at least, for the monetary compensation alone. Like I said, this new job of mine pays me three times more than Macy's does. Definitely, it's a no-brainer. It's the lesser of two evils, so to speak.

The day didn't end on a down note, though, unlike last night. I was further praised by my boss and my co-workers love the job I am doing, despite being new. My other co-worker was telling my boss how I didn't want to leave the office last night because I had more phone calls to do and that really made my boss happy. She then rewarded me by giving more information to stuff in my brain, as part of her 1-week goal of making me into an expert. Great.

Her efforts may have some merit, though. I almost hit 2 accounts today but the first said they'd think about the terms (which aren't bad at all) and the second told me to call back on Friday for further discussion. So let's see how this will all go. So far, so good. Hopefully, things will be falling into place.

Anyway, I spent my late lunch with Ms. Chinita again. This time, we were bitching about our workload and our job for most of the conversation. We ate at this Italian place at the San Francisco Shopping Centre and just ranted. Before we knew it, our 1-hour lunch was over and we had to go back to work.

I got to know more about her today and I think that's nice. I'm becoming more and more interested in the kind of person she is, since someone like her is definitely new to me. She's kinda "wild" but she's really decent. All my life, I've been exposed to conservative and reserved kind of girls. Now, I am faced with an American-bred chinita and I just don't know what to expect. Every lunchtime we spend together is really something new. It's always a surprise, hehe.

So basically, that was the day. It was another long day but I guess it's still better than doing nothing at Macy's or bumming around at home, hehe.

Goodnight to everyone all the way from here in San Francisco!
