Job hunt woes

Alright, I'm experiencing job hunt woes. So far, I haven't gotten anything substantial and I've been here in America for 7 months already. And I've been searching everywhere - newspapers, internet, word of mouth/referrals - just anywhere and everywhere! I've had a few applications and interviews here and there but in the end, I just don't qualify or something. It's so frustrating.

Sure, I have Macy's but is that all there is?! I'm pretty sure there are other jobs out there that are career-worthy because I see no career or potential for advancement at Macy's. It's really just a job. It's just something to get me by (and it's barely getting me by, by the way). It's just enough to pay for a few bills here and there but it can't help me survive by myself (heck, I only earn $7,000 annually!). Oh well.

Hopefully, I can find not just a job, but a career soon. Hopefully.
