Spring forward, fall back
Spring forward, fall back. That's the trick in remembering how daylight-saving time (DST) works here. In the spring, time moves forward by an hour. In the fall, time moves backward by an hour. I just think it's an interesting thing to keep in mind. And what even makes it more interesting for me right now is that I never had to deal with that back in the Philippines. We never had that over there so time was always the same.
Anyway, the reason why I'm writing about this is that early this morning, at 2 AM, time fell back. The minute after 1:59 AM turned the clock into 1:00 AM. I know that looks weird but that's what happened with time here. As for me, this meant extended sleep and that was so welcome, hehe. It also means that my Manila-San Francisco time conversion is now "+4" instead of "+3" for most of the spring and summer. It's just a simple method of converting time for me. For example, if it's 12 AM here, I just do "+4" and invert it so I know it's 4 PM in Manila. This really comes in handy especially when going online to chat with friends (so I know when most are online) or when making long distance phone calls.
Just a part of Buhay Amerika I'd like to share...
