Boston Red Sox: 2004 World Series champion
The other night, Wednesday night, October 27, the Boston Red Sox finally won the World Series, after 86 years of baseball frustration. Since they had sold star player Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1920, they haven't won a World Series championship since, thus, coining the term "Curse of the Bambino". The Yankees, on the other hand, won 26 World Series since then, making them the most successful professional sports franchise in history.
Anyway, see this Nike ad. It's one of the best and most touching commercials I've seen in recent memory. It truly captures the 86 years of frustration in Boston.
Watch it here.
