Financial independence

The nice thing about having a job is getting financial independence. Yes, the freedom to purchase anything you want and anything you desire. It's the power to spend and spend.

Anyway, I've been getting a steady paycheck and it's nice to know that I have some money to spend for whatever. I can now pay for my own bills: cable TV and internet, gas, food, credit card bills, etc. I'm proud of it and I'm just lovin' it.

But I think lately, I've stretched it too far. I think I've maxed out my credit cards and so far, my American Express is the only one standing because there's no credit limit. My Capital One Visa is through. My Household Bank Mastercard might have a few more dollars on it (I might get more room if and when I return some items).

Thing is, I have a few more upcoming expenses. I have some friends flying over to San Francisco from the Philippines and I plan to treat them out when we meet up. I also have other financial commitments soon (i.e. credit card bills).

Looks like I'll be shelling out a lot of money within the next few weeks.

There goes my savings account...
