Never say goodbye

TO MY FRIENDS READING THIS: PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY FOR MY GRANDFATHER. HE REALLY NEEDS IT NOW.

Things have turned for the worst with regards to my grandfather's health. He was admitted to the hospital last December 21, 2004 and hasn't left since. It's been more than 2 weeks. His breathing has become very deep and difficult. He's very weak. His skin is dry and cracking up. Dialysis has taken its toll on him, so much that he decided to quit it. Earlier today, he told my aunts that he's "prepared".

I can't believe how one small problem became a multitude of problems. It all began with hemorrhoids and now his health has gotten progressively worse. It seemed as if everything came out all at once; it was just waiting for an opening. Now, he's bedridden, could hardly move, and could hardly speak.

He has always been a fighter and has had numerous successful battles with different health problems. But I guess there will come a time when you can't fight the battle anymore. I guess that's how he feels now.

It's sad but once he ends dialysis, his days are numbered. I don't know how I'm gonna handle this when that day comes...

Say it ain't so, grandpa. Never say goodbye...
